Neha, born and raised in Nagpur, fondly describes the people there as sweet, much like Nagpur oranges, she remarked with a smile. Neha wholeheartedly believes that the place of birth and upbringing plays a pivotal role in shaping one’s persona. Reflecting on her own experience, she shares, “My city has moulded me into a patient and peaceful individual. To be honest, it has been my source of inspiration for creativity and following my passion. Throughout this learning journey, my family – Deepak (younger brother), Reshma (mother), and Harish Methwani (father), has been my unwavering support. They've taught me to love life and live it to the fullest. I owe who I am today to my family.”
The turning point
Neha consistently achieved good grades during her growth years, and she attributes this success to her family. "While I certainly dedicated myself to studying hard for good marks, it was my family's unwavering support that truly backed me up and helped me pass with flying colours,” she informed. While many people experience a single turning point, Neha was fortunate enough to have three.
Remarkably, she embraced each one, extracting valuable lessons from each. Following her Bachelor's in Computer Science, she made a significant move to Pune to pursue an MBA in Systems. “During the induction round, I was tasked with delivering a presentation in front of 500 students—a daunting experience for a first-timer like me. Overcoming my initial nervousness and fear of facing such a large audience, I learned to manage stage fright in my second year. The result was remarkable; I not only conquered my fears but also secured the first prize. I encourage everyone to confront their fears and embrace their shortcomings by actively working on them,” she said.
Following that, Neha was presented with another opportunity to step out of her comfort zone. During one of her college fests, she was invited to participate in a dance competition. “Initially hesitant, I embraced the new challenge with an open mind. As a group, we dedicated ourselves to rigorous day-and-night practice. Our Indo-western dance performance not only secured the top spot in the competition but also earned us Rs 75,000 and tickets to an amusement park. These experiences have undoubtedly shaped me, making me more confident and determined,” she explained
Her love for words
Since childhood, Neha harboured a love for reading books and expressing herself through her sweet and short stories whenever time allowed. This fondness for words persisted and grew over the years. “During my postgraduate days, my friends and professors encouraged me to delve into writing poems. Unleashing the inner poet in me resulted in some of my best work to date. These poems were later published in a leading newspaper in Nagpur. This is the power of pursuing your passion. I urge everyone to explore themselves, discover their passion and follow it. Little did I know that a few years down the line, I would be working as a Technical Writer,” she shared with a smile. Her LinkedIn bio even reflects her passion proudly - a passionate writer and a poet who strongly believes in making everything simple.

An outstanding internship
Neha embarked on her internship journey with Genie InfoTech in Pune, an experience she describes as the time of her life. Reflecting on her internship, she shared, “It was my inaugural encounter with the corporate environment and I was truly captivated by it. I honed my people skills and had the opportunity to contribute to a project analysing the impact of Yammer, a corporate social media portal. Subsequently, I had the privilege of presenting this project at my college, receiving resounding applause. The positive response even led to a request to convert it into a research paper.”
All set for campus placement
When asked about her campus placement preparation, Neha was quick to respond, “Our professors and staff have been grooming us for this day since our first college day – with surprise tests, mock interviews and group discussions, we were well-prepared for any challenge. Despite facing rejections from 4-5 companies initially, I realised it was due to my nervousness and lack of confidence. I dedicated over a month to addressing these shortcomings, recording myself during mock interviews, analysing and working hard to improve. Eventually, I secured a position with Acquisory Risk Consulting as their Risk Analyst Intern.”
After navigating through several jobs in the corporate world, Neha felt a strong urge to change her field. Opting for a role as a technical writer, she currently works with Clear Trail Technologies in Nagpur. Content with her current role, she aspires to engage in philanthropy work and contribute to helping those in need.
Tips on how to prepare for campus placement:
Follow your passion: When you engage in activities you love, it doesn't feel like work. Similarly, pursuing their passion allows students to express themselves more effectively, fostering confidence. Most importantly, it brings out their best qualities, providing a sense of satisfaction and purpose to their lives.
Keep yourself updated: Having current affairs knowledge is essential for succeeding in all three rounds of campus placement. Moreover, since industry trends constantly evolve, it's crucial to keep up with new concepts and theories. To achieve this, it is recommended to read the newspaper daily and utilise apps that aid in comprehending industry trends.
Fall, but get up: The educational journey is meant to be challenging, preparing you for your corporate endeavours. It's okay to face failures, experience setbacks and encounter downfalls. The key is to brush off these challenges, learn valuable lessons from them and resiliently move forward.
Analyse your journey: Campus placement holds significant importance in a student's life and should be approached with seriousness. If you don't secure a position with any company, take the opportunity to analyse your journey. Identify and address your shortcomings while also recognising and enhancing your strengths.
Work smart: It's acceptable to skip a few lectures and have some fun, but avoid making it a habit. When you do attend lectures, give your utmost attention and absorb as much knowledge as possible, it will contribute to achieving good grades.
