We still live in a world where some girls miss out on going to school. Even now, they face gender disparity and gaining education, which happens to be a necessity, seems like a long-lost dream. Overcoming the orthodox barrier, Ritika’s grandparents, Shivdan Ram Mali and Rameshwari Devi, supported her to grow beyond boundaries. Born and raised in a traditional Rajasthani family, Ritika wanted to learn, work, support her family and fly high. “When society advised my family not to send me to school, it was my grandparents who opposed them. They supported me and pushed me to live my dream. Whatever I am today is courtesy of my grandparent’s faith in me,” said a proud Ritika.
BORN TO LEARN
It was her love for learning and dedication towards studying that showed her path of success. As a child, Ritika loved to go to school and gather as much knowledge as she could. “If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. My family saw this spark in me, they saw my determination to study, which is why they always supported this dream of mine,” she said.
Processing information becomes easy when a student pays attention in the class. Ritika did exactly that. And to add to that she utilised her time after school in revising, which further added to her experience. “Paying attention in the class shows a student’s willingness to give their best effort. With that, if a student gives enough time after school to revise what was taught that day, they will surely get good grades. Be it the school or college, I implement the same plan owing to which I flare well in the exams. I urge all my friends to follow this pattern to accumulate plenty of knowledge,” informed Ritika.

Taking part in extra-curricular activities grooms a student, it broadens their horizon and provides them virtues which will benefit them in the future. Agreed Ritika, “The world is an open book, the more you take part in extra-curricular activities, the more you will gain qualities that will groom you. To enter the corporate world, one needs to have qualities like leadership, teamwork, dedication, and communication, and taking part in extracurricular activities will push you to be the best.” Following the same path, Ritika took several courses on personality development, participated in every cultural programme, took a course in jewellery designing and participated in several workshops.

As Ritika Bhati settles well in the corporate world, she passes on a few tips for her juniors on how to prepare for campus placement and more…
Be consistent: To maintain a constant graph of success, one should revise what is taught in the school or college regularly. Revising each day will save you from the hassle of mugging up everything at the last minute before exams. This habit will prepare you for the best by giving you enough time to practice and will also reduce your stress.
Extracurricular activities are crucial: No doubt studying will take you a long way, but getting involved in extracurricular activities will groom you and enhance your overall development. Pick up a sport or a hobby that you like, and always make it a point to take part in the college functions and fests. Learning anything new will surely boost your academic performance and prepare you for the future.
Always be on your toes: Your time in the college, which is just before getting into the corporate world, is truly the defining moment of your life. Do not take it lightly. At times, professors might take a surprise test, and one should be always prepared for that moment.
Don’t be nervous: I know it is easy to say and difficult to implement, but try not to be nervous for your campus placement sessions. Because that will hamper your overall performance. Be confident and ready to give your best.
Analyse your performance: Failure is a part of life. Some may get placed in the first go, while others may take time to enter the corporate. Don’t get disheartened if things fail to favour you. After every interview, analyse your performance and try to give your best the next time but not repeating the mistakes.
