Livin' his life to the fullest
He believes in giving his best and his competitive spirit has made him overcome several hurdles in his educational journey and career. Meet Naman Agrawal, who recently switched to Entero Healthcare Solutions Private Limited, Lucknow, as their Branch Manager. This move has gotten him closer to his dream of starting his business. In a conversation with Corporate Citizen, Naman opens up about his journey so far, the reason he switched his job, and with that, he also shares a few tips for his juniors for their campus placement
Born and raised in a small town of Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Naman Agrawal was sure that his dreams will surely take him places. He belongs to a family who has always been into business. This helped him to push his boundaries even further. "I have always been intrigued by art and creativity which kept my curiosity of learning new things and aspects alive. Giving my best at everything that I'm part of, has not only gotten me results but also the learnings that helped me hone my skills much better. I believe in living each day to the fullest," he said.
BEING COMPETITIVE
There are hundreds or maybe thousands around you who are eyeing to accomplish the same things as you wish for. But the thing that differentiates you from the rest is how badly you want to achieve your vision. "You might not be the most talented person in the room, but your competitive nature has the power to make you overcome any obstacles in life," smiled Naman.
Growing up, Naman was an average student. It was his competitive spirit that made him stand apart from the crowd. "Whether its was my student life or corporate career or life in general, my ambitious nature pushed me to achieve nothing but the best. I believe that this virtue has kept me on my toes through various walks of my life. It has always made me push my boundaries and restored my self-confidence," he informed, while further adding, "However, there is a thin line between being competitive and being desperate. No situation can ever be bigger than your selfworth. Have said that, if you don't achieve the things that you planned, the world would not come to an end."
THE GAME-CHANGER
After completing his graduation in BCom Honours, Naman moved to Pune to pursue his post-graduation in International Business from Pune's well-known college. There took place an event on his first day of college that changed his life forever. An otherwise introvert and reserved Naman completely transformed into a better version of himself. Talking about this life-changing event, he informed, "On the first day of my post-graduation, I had to present a presentation in front of a thousand students and of course, the professors were there too. I was super nervous to face the crowd. But the moment I took the stage, I could feel my mind go through a change. I presented my work with full confidence, which was quite appreciated by the gathering," he reminisced.
That event made him realise that a single piece of paper does not define his destiny. "You write your future with your hard work. Overcoming my inhibitions gave me the upper hand in life and work. It gave me the confidence to face the world and unboxed the new me," explained Naman.

PROVING HIS WORTH
Whatever Naman is today is of course because of his determination, but he does not shy away from giving the credit to his family. "My family always gave me the things that I asked for. They are the ones who support me through my thick and thin. And one of my life's vision is to give them back the love that they gave me and make them proud. I always strive to put a smile on their face," said a proud Naman. Characteristics like these will surely guide a person to his/her dream. Being grateful brings in positive emotions and most importantly it gives a purpose to our life.
CRUISING THROUGH
His post-graduation taught him a great about the corporate world and of course, it simplified his life for him. Taking part in his college festivals and events, built his confidence further. And his overall hard work prepared him for the campus placement. "I was always prepared for the aptitude round and courtesy of my competitive nature, I would always clear the group discussion rounds as well. However, I did flatter at the personal interview round," he said.
Talking about his preparations for the campus placement, he informed, "For me, the groundwork before any company visited our college always took the front seat. I spent enough time reading about the company. That is where I gathered all the information." Before getting through Lodha Group, Naman had appeared for over ten companies. He did flatter, but he encashed on the learning to bag the next job. "After analysing my personal interview experience, I realised that I should focus on everything rather than just one thing. Reading up on just the company that was visited us was not working for me. So, this time I researched not only about the company, but the sector the company represented as well. I guess that made the difference for me and that's how I got placed," he smiled.
ONE STEP FURTHER
Soon as he entered the corporate world, he started learning about the several avenues that the sector was built. However, after a revelation that he had, he changed his job and started working with Markets and Markets, Pune, as a Project Manager. "My experience taught me that I should choose the right boss rather than choosing a job. Your first job is your steppingstone, and your first boss should be like your mentor who would always support and believes in you," he said.
Recently, Naman joined Entero Healthcare Solutions Private Limited, Lucknow, as their Branch Manager. This switch has brought him one step closer to his dream and a lot closer to his family. "Entering the pharma sector was a dream come true as my family's business is also in the same field," he said. He is exploring the corporate sector to the fullest and believes that the best is yet to come. One day he hopes to start his business and make his family proud.
As Naman Agrawal settles in well in the corporate world, he passes on a few tips for his juniors on how to prepare for the campus placement and much more...
Confidence is a must : Campus placement is the biggest opportunity to showcase your talent. It is something that will provide you with a hall pass to enter the corporate world. Hence, it is necessary to handle all the rounds with confidence. And confidence can be achieved by understanding the concepts on which your field runs on.
Be competitive, not desperate : There is a thin line between being competitive and being desperate. Give your best to achieve your dreams, but if you don't achieve your goals, it is not the end of the world. Have a backup plan and work accordingly. Remember, you can't always be the most talented person in the room, but your competitive spirit will take you a long way.
Researching is the key : Before sitting for any company do thorough research on what the company does. The company will surely have a website, go through it and understand all the fact. This will help you answer most of the questions during the personal interview rounds.
Choose a boss, not the job! Jobs will come and go, but a boss or a mentor who supports and believes in you will always be beneficial for your career. Any given job might look appealing, but it is your boss's actions that will make a difference in your profile.
Be humble: The art of staying humble is something that will make or break your career. By being humble it provides you with a sense of maturity to handle any situation at work and in your personal life. Humility is one of the virtues that will make you a great employee, business-person, or a corporate professional.
