Preparing the ground
Although Mayuri was a brilliant student in the school and college, she never took it granted. Enlightening us on the same she said, “Overconfidence isn’t a good trait, it can be harmful. The reason I could score good marks is that I studied hard for it. I never took my talent for granted.” In fact, in the Xth grade, Mayuri’s hard work helped her win the ‘Best Student of the Year’ Award.
Learning from the best
Growing up, Mayuri had the chance of learning from the best. Be it her father or her school teachers or the staff of Lila Poonawalla Foundation (LPF), she never let a single stone unturned to grasp the knowledge that would turn her into a better human. “I was always enticed seeing my father lead as the Sarpanch of our village. Just by watching my father perform his duties I learnt several things. The way he handled the people, the way he worked and the way he motived all, it was an inspiring sight,” said Mayuri, who looks up to her father.

Preparing for the placement
The Aptitude Test is a combination of subjects like quantitative, logical reasoning and English. Mayuri had dedicated an equal amount of time to practice for each of the sections. “I had learnt the art of patience from my father which helped me in many ways. When it came to English, my school played a bigger role in having a command over my language. To add to that, I love reading novels. Being good at math, answering the other sections was a little easy for me,” she informed. Last year, on December 10, Mayuri gave the Infosys Aptitude Test online and to her surprise by the end of the day, she got selected for the next round.
And when it came to showing off her best self during the PIs, LPF played a great role. She said, “LPF groomed me well. I learnt many things – right from how to present myself during the PIs to how to articulate a proper sentence in front of the assessor.” With this, she herself trained to face the interviewer. She informed, “Every night after my dinner, I would rush to terrace with my resume. Keeping myself in the interviewee’s place, I would ask myself all sorts of questions based on my resume. And I made sure to respond to all of them. That’s how I was ready to face the PI.”
The next day, her PI with Infosys went pretty well, or rather the way she had planned. Her happiness knew no bounds when she was placed as a trainee with this prestigious company. As soon as Mayuri completes her college, she would be joining the company. She has a pocket full of dreams and a mind full of courage.
