The many lessons from Lok Sabha 2024 results
The world was watching the Great Indian Lok Sabha Election of 2024, as it’s the largest in the entire world. No wonder it spurred officials from 23 foreign countries to witness the same. Finally, the results have been declared and the government has been formed. With two major political alliances at daggers’ end; each with contrasting ideologies, sparks flew high now and then; with undercurrents of each one trying to outdo the other.
Without going into any election result details which were aplenty last month, here are some observations of how to enrich your life to achieve success and discard those values that could backfire on you.
That you get an ever-loyal colossal fan following with your relentless hard work and charisma was aptly portrayed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi whose world tours and presence in electronic and social media captured millions of hearts. It’s not easy to achieve such towering fan following; it shows that strategy and unending energy does it.
Culture and class interspersed with humility and a down-to-earth attitude saw Rahul Gandhi sparkling in both his constituencies. The love between siblings was also to be seen, which ended in deep gratitude and pride. This effused in Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s tweet which stated: “You kept standing, no matter what they said and did to you…you never backed down whatever the odds, never stopped believing however much they doubted your conviction, you never stopped fighting for the truth despite the overwhelming propaganda of lies they spread, and you never allowed anger and hatred to overcome you, even when they gifted it to you every day. You fought with love, truth and kindness in your heart. Those who could not see you, see you now, but some of us have always seen and known you to be the bravest of all. @RahulGandhi I am proud to be your sister.”
Turning humiliation into a feisty fight is real success and that came from various political parties who charged themselves up, battered as they were with heavy criticism.
Microscopically scouring every inch of land, they emerged triumphant despite the election symbols that were snatched away from them, in one of the States.
Using your instinct and intelligence, you can turn defeat into victory. This was ably engineered by Akhilesh Yadav, who used his engineering brains to form the formidable PDA community comprising, backward, Dalit and other communities who were ignored by the ruling party.
The elections showed that public participation can put immense pressure on the administration, particularly the Election Commission of India. After persistently playing hide-and-seek with people in terms of hiding information and trying to be on the side of the powers-that-be, the former relented and started being transparent from the third phase of elections. This brings us to the point that if you hold a crucial post that affects the people at large, you cannot afford to be meek.
The election also revealed that when you are not true to your profession, it could backfire on you. Take the case of the television media – their consistent attitude of not speaking truth to power as journalists, gave them a temporary upper hand but in the end, they lost all credibility.
Lastly, it showed that no human being can claim to be divine. Only humility and hard work matters. No wonder, we had such a unique election result.
